Goals: Our group is interested in defining the roles of HMGB1 as a necrosis signal and cytokine.
Achievements: Definition of HMGB1 as the nuclear component that, when, leaked out of the cell, signals necrosis to nearby cells. Creation of a null Hmgb1-/- mouse model.
