Vita-Salute San Raffaele University
The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University hosts a Medical School (90 students/year) and a Biotechnology School (70 students/year), along with two international PhD Programs, in cell and molecular biology and in molecular medicine. The University has its premises within the DIBIT. The DIBIT is a highly international, 40,000 sq. meters research Institute adjacent to San Raffaele, a large General Hospital with more than 1,500 beds. The DIBIT was conceived as a multidisciplinary, basic research facility with strong connections to the clinical aspects of biomedical research. High-tech approaches are continuously being developed at the DIBIT, thanks to the ongoing collaborations among experts in the various fields of cell and molecular biology, neurobiology, immunology and genetics. The DIBIT provides sufficient space and equipment for hosting students and visiting scientists on a temporary basis, including a large (30 workstations), fully equipped laboratory devoted to training of students and tutorials. The up-to-date imaging and proteomics facilities hosted by the Dibit are an integral component of the present research training proposal. |
